We recently spoke with Erin Founder of @mammae.the.embodied.mother (and owner of the beautiful @mammae.studio) on the importance of pausing to reconnect the mind and body while navigating parenthood. Erin has created Mammae the Embodied Mother, a slow and conscious collection of ritualistic breastfeeding products.
Mammae is an Australian Mother cantered-care brand cultivating considered breastfeeding products. Mammae's collection transcends routine into ritual, combining safe, effective and essential lactation support, with close attention to the value of breastfeeding and the importance of self.
We asked Erin about the importance of nurturing the mind and body and how Mammae supports the concept of 'me time'.
"The truth of the matter is that when a woman emerges into motherhood, everything in her world as she once knew it changes forever. This season of nurturing another can often send us out of balance and feel as though we are navigating off course. Our existence on autopilot and sleep deprivation offers very little in the way of peace and joy as we embark on this memorable experience. Mothers require the support of a village, arguably more support than ever, especially in this modern world."
"Often when we disconnect from our breath and allow the constant motion of motherhood to distract us from ourselves, it can be very difficult to feel these elated moments of joy, peace and relaxation. However, by virtue of self-love and self compassion, you mama, can invite the opportunity to course correct; an intentional moment to come back into your body."
"Targeted wholefoods, herbs, hydration, gentle movement, meditation and daily self-care rituals are guaranteed to have profoundly positive impacts on your whole body well-being - welcoming the space to flourish and thrive as a woman and as a mother, savouring the beauty and pleasures of life.
So much so, it is my hope through the Mammae ritual experience to be your guiding compass; we invite you to honour the woman inside the mother and your deserving need to relax, find balance and enjoy a sense of peace as you embark on this truly remarkable season, and thereafter."
Supporting, honouring and empowering more women to experience breastfeeding and motherhood within a healthy environment is a collective responsibility. It is my greatest ambition to ensure that all mothers have the support, sensory and self-soothing resources to draw upon, awakening joy, abundance, ease, and closeness shared between baby and bosom.
